Cactus What You Preach
Cactus What You Preach is a hand-dyed yarn colorway inspired by resilient greens and desert calm. Earthy cactus tones range from soft sage to deeper green, creating a balanced palette that feels natural, modern, and effortlessly wearable. It’s a grounded green with plenty of personality.
Hand dyed in small batches, each skein features gentle tonal variation that adds depth and texture without overwhelming your stitches. Cactus What You Preach is a versatile choice for sweaters, hats, shawls, and accessories, pairing beautifully with neutrals and brights alike.
As with all hand dyed yarns, slight variations between skeins are part of the process. For larger projects, alternating skeins is recommended for a smooth, cohesive fabric.

Pro Tip: If your project uses more than one skein in the same colorway, we recommend alternating skeins every row. Hand-dyed yarns naturally have slight shifts in tone and saturation, and switching skeins as you go helps those subtle variations blend beautifully for a more consistent, cohesive fabric.
You can even use this technique with a single-skein project: wind the skein into two balls and alternate between them each row. If you’re working from a center-pull cake, just use both the inside and outside strand to alternate rows.
Care Instructions
Wash only when necessary — fine yarn rarely needs frequent cleaning. When your piece does need care, hand-soak in cool water with a mild wool wash. Avoid detergent, wringing, agitation, or machine washing (even on delicate cycles). Press gently in a towel to remove excess water and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight.
A larger amount of color release will occur with cotton yarn. This is normal with hand-dyed cotton yarns, especially with deeply saturated colorways. This will lessen over time and does not affect the quality of your finished piece, however, be sure to soak separately or with like colors only.
Cherish your handmade item — with gentle care, it will last a lifetime.
